It looks interesting, if it performs like they say it does, and has backwards compatibility, I might pick one up.
I have no interest in the mobile aspect of this, particularly in using the tiny controllers for multiplayer. Hope the actual system is decent though.
This is what the WiiU was supposed to be, a portable console that you can actually take to your friends and play. It actually brings back some of that old school “couch gaming” aspect that people seem to want.
I love that Nintendo always tries to be different, to innovate, unlike the cesspool of imagination that has become the ps4 and xbox one… I look at the ps4 and xbox one and i think “Hmm, i already have a PC that does way better than both of those machines, the games are cool but what can ya do, not gonna do it just for that”.
This however, i can actually take it and casually play with anyone anywhere. This is a fantastic step forward if it actually works as shown.
It looks cool, but I dunno about the battery life on it? Might not be a problem though if it has good adapters for recharging.
what if it has the battery life of a game gear? Kappa
I was about to say, it can’t be that bad, but now I’m afraid it will be
The Switch will use carts instead of discs right?
apparently yes, which is already a one up over sony and microsoft due to their shitty network download speed.
Carts are just way better so that’s a plus in my book for sure.
Yeah they had a person putting in a cart during the intro thing
That could be a memory card.
Oh yeah, you’re right about that, it looked a bit like the DS card but I might be mistaken
It does look like a DS game card, but it was pointed out to me that some Nintendo system has memory cards. If it is a memory card I hope that you can hot swap them for expandable memory.
Like have games 1-3 on one card 5-8 on another etc…
I’m kinda excited overall, fits a lot of my needs. Battery and 3rd party support of important to me to see if it’ll be a long term value or just short term for me and my son to play the new Zelda. As long as it’s smooth when acting as a console I’ll be happy. The multiple modes of use are very intriguing to me.
Looks like a cool idea, never really touched Nintendo after the Snes, can’t wait to see more.
My opinion is that I need a new PC, this one old
I’ve never been disappointed with a Nintendo console, and now it looks like I won’t need a console AND a handheld!
Been a while since I’ve legit been excited for a Nintendo console(bought the Wii-U in the middle of its life cycle). So I’m really interested in seeing how the hardware works, price point, and what titles Nintendo has ready for it on launch. This is most certainly looking like a “DAY 1” buy for me
I’ll have to end up getting this or the Wii-u anyways, gotta get in on the Breath of the Wild on release next year. It does seem interesting, I like the look of it a lot better than the Wii-u. However, I worry about the quality of graphics and battery when you switch over to mobile play.
like any handheld device, i don’t expect the battery to be good enough for more than idk 4 hours of gameplay.
