Xbox Clubs / PS4 Communities?

Since both Xbox and PS4 have ways to form a common area for people and you can see who’s in that group and what they are playing, wonder if its worth forming an Xbox Club and PS Community for this purpose.

It could also be used by JP if he ever wants to “Play With Subs/Followers” since he could just invite people from there to what ever game he’s playing.

At the moment I haven’t made either group (to be fair I’ve not searched to see if there are said groups made already) just wanted to see what peoples opinions are on this as a way to game together, rather than having a thread listing all our gamer tags.

Thoughts?

Not that I mind Discord but what with Twitch buying Curse who knows what’s going to happen with all this intergration.

Plus not everyone uses things like Discord/Curse, just thought I’d suggest something that’s already there for people to use to find games together , I think Xbox also has lfg now too.

So I can provide a little insight to things that you’re looking for on the PlayStation 4 side. Now I been doing something like you’re suggesting with another community for over 3 years now. On the PlayStation 4 side there are two options of getting people of a single “Community” together:

  1. PlayStation Communities - It’s a page/feature on the PlayStation 4 that allows people to join a Community that be based around anything. It’s mainly like a large message board that allows up to the thousands of people to join in. It has moderator powers like; Banning, Kicking, Admin control and so on. However it does have some downsides like; weird Notification priorities, unable to post links, and sometimes long loading times or not loading the current newest message. It does provide a system which shows you how many people in that Community are in a party chat or playing a game together and can link it to the Community to join those parties. So it works as a weird mini-lfg system. You can give the Community a custom icon and background image as well.

  2. PlayStation 4 Message - So the PlayStation 4 message system is interesting you can basically turn it into a chatroom of sorts. People being able to speak with each other instantly as the message load in real time. They also include custom PlayStation “stickers” (emojis basically) of PlayStation brand characters. You can change the title of the chatroom, give it a custom image for it’s icon. It even has the same feature of letting you link a party chat to the chatroom giving that same mini-lfg effect. And unlike the Community feature you can post links. However it has it’s own downfalls like; NO moderating powers at all, NO admin powers at all, and can only fill 100 people max in one chatroom. Anyone can message with titling, the image, even add in trolls without you having any ability to stop it. The only way out is to keep track of who is who and just make a whole new chatroom without them in it.

In the end for a Community like this wanting to put themselves on the PlayStation 4 I recommend using the Community feature over the Chatroom feature. Having that ability to make moderators and have admin control over things out ways it’s own negatives of weird notification support, no linking, and real time message load times.

P.S. sorry for my grammar or any misspellings I may have made, was in a rush.
