spider man, spider man, dies.
So JP’s Patron is equated to the Mara now, or was that a joke?
So how much xp are the forest gnomes worth?
Hey Adam, thanks again for a great show in the dark dungeons of the ROCK GNOME KING! But much deeper do we have to dwelve to finally find the king because it feels like we’ve only scratched the surface! Anyways thanks again for an amazing show and just GMing so amazingly!
Obviously JP couldn’t find anything in the book about it, but I think the Roll20 series gives precedence for the hawk only vanishing if Raziel dies.
Remember, in the adventure, the imp said he did not go back, so he knew his conjurer was still alive. It had been some large amount of time, at least days, so the conjurer was almost certainly not conscious for 100% of the time.
So I think you made the right call!
I love how they killed a million things while almost dead and then had serious trouble with that one damn spoider while fully rested.
Question on encounters in general: Are they always gonna be “fair” in the sense that their challenge rating or whatever it’s called matches the party or are there gonna be areas in the world that the party would have to level up if they don’t want to get roflstomped?
Great episode once again. I know the dumb voice is offputting for some, but I love how much Sean jumps into his character.
Also how great was dan lecturing them about taking on unnecessary fights?
The elf was already an encounter like that were they had to gtfo.
p.78: Monks throw missles back on the same reaction they catch them, in a rare moment of the designers not fucking players over in the D5 action economy
“Max is on his fourth character this fight was a perfect line.”
P.S.: And I said 2d10 arrows btw, tststs, just had to come up with your own improved solutions did you?
The Fountain rejects the power of all that which is not of its divine source. The Mara are one form of elder evil, whatever Raziel follows is another sort.
She’s not actually a monk though! She doesn’t have the throw-back ability and deals more melee damage.
God I thought Snidgey had killed them there with the last spider.
Ya, and she had used her reaction on her readied attack anyway.
Thanks! That’s what helped me make that call, actually.
Your call, just pointing out the book ability.
very little.
get it?
I’m afraid I have to give that joke short shrift
I’m almost certain the elf was a typical CR 3 fight by the book, if my inclination is correct. They just didn’t try cuz it was scary.
Great session as always @AdamKoebel, @itmeJP, @DansGaming. Finding the Forest Gnomes brought back a little bit of hope to this quest and really gave it the feeling of them doing the right thing.
I still like Berg so much but really like Volnach, I wonder who Max will end up choosing?
Let’s talk about sleeping in armor, technically there is no rule for this. I’m 100% with you on saying you can’t sleep in plate armor but I think you definitely could in leather armor and you could but maybe be uncomfortable in scale and chain. I know I would sleep in my armor if I was in their situation.
Also just a side note so everyone is aware you can actually take a short rest while unconscious, you don’t need to wait until you wake up. I was pretty surprised by this one since logically this is a little weird but Jeremy Crawford (the man who wrote the rules) said it can be done. It might come in useful in the future. See screencap of tweets below:
Let’s codify this rule - a short rest is possible in any armor. A Long Rest is impossible in Heavy Armor, you can Long Rest in Medium Armor but wake with a level of Exhaustion. You can Long Rest in Light Armor but have to make a DC 12 Constitution Save or wake with a level of Exhaustion.
