Possibly one of my favourite lines of reasoning ever brought up. You make excellent points and I can only hope Adam addresses some of them.
A hole in that reasoning, however, is that if the crime was fated to occur, the punishment could also be fated to be enacted. Also, one of the Major Arcana is specifically supposed to deal with the legal crimes people commit, with a completely separate one dealing with karma and spiritual crimes. Even if someone didn’t commit any crimes in the creed of Judgement, Justice specifically exists to decide what punishments should be dealt out for what crimes.
The justice/judgement split is a good point that I hadn’t considered. I still would love more insight into the legal process in world, but you have correctly pointed out that someone could theoretically commit a karmic good crime.
Is there a specific sect of Buddhism or Hinduism you are basing the courts on?
