Whew! New show talk for Patrons!

Well, they’re more like a band of Hans and Chewies. They lack that supreme moral center, zeal, and innocent purity (Luke, Leia, R2D2, C3PO). Gamora is sorta like Leia, but her ultimate goal is just to grt away and free.

And ultimately, the war they got involved in was just a small conflict within the context of the greater universe (where gods and monsters and superheroes are all fighting each other for their own piece of the pie). Sure, the stakes were high, but everything significant that happens in the comic book universes is world-ending, reality-shattering craziness.

In Star Wars, it’s just the Empire and some criminals who also work with the Empire vs. “everybody free and good”.

I didn’t know this topic already exists!
I made this little trailer/intro you might find interesting

Did you play Anachronox?
If not, long story short, tis a 2000AD game, the party is:

  • a third class detective,
  • a miniaturized planet,
  • a toy robot,
  • a xenoarcheologist (really),
  • an aging spanish superhero,
  • an assasin,
  • a dwarf,
  • a dead secretary.

The setting is as colorful as the party.
I kinda hope to get the same vibes from this new show.

If you haven’t played, it’s a must. If you did, how did you like it?

The Combat was horrible though :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: [at least in the beginning, when I stopped playing]

SPOILERS

Well, it was sorta like FF combat, but they added a grid and didn’t put a real effort into balancing it. There’s two locations which are just casual fights that are impossible to win if you don’t have particular spells/weapons already (Sender Station smuggler trio and fluffy seals from Northendon, when your companion planet Democratus accidently expands while in space). On the other hand the supervillain Rictus from planet Krapton is a supereasy bossfight. So yeah, there were issues.

But the stuff that was thrown into that game was pretty much what Adam listed in the pre-show. There was a LOT of crazy stuff in that game and yet it kinda sticks toghether nicely. I’d love to see this level of sillyness that will then generate the action and drama anyway.

P.S. If you decide to play, save often and on different slots, because BUGS.
P.S.2. Though I love that cast we have for this show I kinda wish JP had a run at it. It will be troll paradise, and he enjoys that type of games.
