Modding KOTOR 1

I’ve been meaning to try to finish KOTOR again and I thought about modding the game for the best experience.
A google search unearthed a bewildering number of mods. Like this long reddit thread and this old thread deadlysteam that might be out of date

My totally question to all you veterans of the game: What do you thing are the essential mods for KOTOR?

For KOTOR 1 I don’t think you need mods. I never played with them, so my opinion may not mean a lot. But for 2 it is essential to get at least the restoration mod. It fixes so many things its insane.
