Whatever level gives them the funds to either buy or build their very own TARDIS.

I think we’re almost there, I’m sure Adam could figure it out.
basically hiatus == cancelled.
The option is always there for them to revisit, but it seldom happens.
Also, describing the show as ‘cancelled’ is simple and clear when being interviewed. It gets the idea across quickly.
And depending on when the interview was done, it could be that it took place after they decided to cancel the show.
