Well that was all thoroughly interesting.
I have to say, my ears pricked up a little at the mention of Perdido Street Station, which is still my favourite in the oft-maligned sub-genre of ‘amazing book that I just can’t sink into to finish, but everything in it is so memorable that I don’t forget any of it if I come back to it’. I’m fully on board with some City of Brass weirdness.
