[Dogs in the Vineyard Q&A] The River Cold, The River Deep

I talked to the devs before the show but there isn’t any quick or easy way right now, though they’ll consider it for a future update!

I didn’t, actually. They did a great job pacing themselves.

I think Jerry took the reigns on that one. That swift righteous authority, perhaps he had a dinner date to get to?

Thanks for showing us all ‘Dogs in the Vineyard’ i already want to get started running a game. The Town creation seen in your prep video makes it look not too difficult for a first time DM. Maybe…

My impression from twitter is he would love to go again asap haha. He absolutely was the one the take the reigns and go full tarantino though which was pretty fucking epic. He fully embraced his authority as a dog and did not hesitate to pass righteous judgement.

Hi @AdamKoebel I thought this was a great show. I hope to see more DitV in the future, and I really like the die mechanic where the GM and the players face off with the dice pool.

I saw a parallel with the roving dogs of religious justice with the roving magistrates of political justice in the initial incarnation of Court of Swords. Was that a coincidence because of the DitV system or did the failure of the CoS team inspire anything in this episode?

Quite the other way around - my experiences with Dogs informed my decisions to structure season one of Court of Swords the way I did.

Dunno why I didn’t mention it, but we definitely need more Dogs in the Vineyard in the future!
It’s not in the list of searchable games on roll20, sadface :itmejps:

Loved it! I really like how the dice mechanics drive the narrative forward.
Also Drumrboys song is so awesome!

What a mind blowing show!

Especially I like the way Adam portrays religion in many of his shows. It all might be just in their heads here, just like real religion. No any real demons or gods, just people being people and the player characters interpreting it through their views, experiences and narrative. Thanks Adam, JP & awesome guests!

I guess I really don’t have a question to put here. Will there be more?

This was definitely the best one shot I have ever experienced. The players, which of course include Adam as the GM, absolutely brought it home.
