Potential options for @Ezekiel_III Kali character. Anyone think of anything else?
- Find someone to cast Regenerate on him, this requires a level 13 cleric, potentially @DansGaming could eventually do that. PG. 272 of DMG.
- Find an Ersatz Eye.
- Find the Eye of Vecna, although I’m not so sure Adam would have this exist in his world. Plus I’m not sure if it really works if your eye is already gone.
- Gem of True Seeing, although temporary
- True Seeing spell, @DansGaming could cast this at 11th level although temporary it would be useful.
I’m sure the cult has some demon eyes in a jar that could work for zeke too.
Yeah Adam could do a bunch of homebrew options definitely.
Polymorph if Dan has it would be an option to allow Kalimat to participate in battle. He could turn him into a CR 9 or below Beast and at least contribute.
Awesome start to the new arc. Glad you didn’t postpone w/o Gassy, long time no CoS you guys crushed it props to Zeke for rolling with it and embracing/owning the narrative. JP was one con check away from joining Zeke if I’m not mistaken. Also I’m not sure on the math if someone who is good with percentages can weigh in here but I think Dan has a 1/5 chance to crit with greater invisiblity and hexblade curse (20-19 being a crit and adding advantage to every attack) and I have to go back to watch but he gets multiple attacks a turn. Interested to see the stats tracker either way at some point cause his new character seems well designed. Awesome job with the overlay it looks great. And last but not least great job to Adam for adjusting the session on the fly and keeping it deadly yet doable.
He could just give Kalimat the dark gift of: No eyes blindsight x feet but blind beyond that range. Needs to be able to hear to benefit from the blindsight.

Yeah I saw that, there are also dragon masks from the Hoard of the Dragon Queen that grant blindsight as well I believe.
@AdamKoebel now that the players are at higher levels and they have a lot of spellcasters in this group how do enemies with legendary resistances work? I’m not sure what monster they are about to fight or if this creature even has them but I’m curious about how much meta knowledge enemies have. Do you have the enemy just use them on the first three saves they fail or do they save them for big debilitating spells? If it’s the latter is the monster aware of the spell it failed the save to before it uses it or do they have to guess whether the spell is worth using a resistance to succeed on it? I.E. can a player bait out the resistances with sacred flames and then fireball it when it’s out of them? Is it a situation where the players can pull a DM move and say “roll a wisdom save Adam” and reveal the spell the spell they cast after you decide whether to use its legendary resistance? I believe Xanathars has rules for identifying a spell that was cast that involved using your reaction to make an arcana check but wasn’t sure how well received that rule was.

Legendary resistance is a very powerful ability. I’ve always played it as the monster gets to pick when to use it. If they drop a fireball I’d use it.
well, in spells like darkvision and clairvoyance(a spell zeke can get access once he reached lvl 5 as a bard) doesnt have a requirement like “having eyes” which is kinda odd, also you could technically lawyer it with a lesser restoration since kali is blind and it specifically says it cures blindness but i think its actually a good thing kali is blind as it gives the group more hooks for adventures, like adam could say that the cult would get kali some new eyes but he needs to do something for them first like how he needed to do something for them to get info about dragonborns etc.
this is the part where D&D-as-game kicks in, just like the players get to make decisions about when and how to use their abilities to maximum gain, I get to save or use Legendary Resistances as I see fit, as the save comes up. the players could try and bait me (the GM) into using them early, or whatever, but I think the idea is that I have to make that call myself, which adds a little tension for me! it’s actually really fun having to make the call of whether to use it or save it for the big guns - playing chicken with the PCs.
