Can we take a minute and appreciate the quality of Rollplay?

I’ve been getting more and more in to DnD thanks to RollPlay, and I think alot of it comes down to @itmeJP producing some high quality content.

I think also a big part of this is the overlays, Roll20 and the quality of everyones webcam.
I’ve watched most of RollPlay content and love everything, but now when waiting for next stream I try and find something to watch DnD wise, but everything has some quality of life choises I can’t get past.

For example; I’ve tried to look at other videos but as soon as they have physical Dice, I lose interest. Same with if they are actually sitting in the same room, I feel like a third wheel and can’t get immersed cause of lack of interactivity.

Now I know live shows are basically what I dislike of other creators, but I think I’ll like it when it’s once in a while but I could never watch an entire series like that.

So to summarize, the work on RollPlay is amazing!

Sorry for any spelling/grammatical errors.

True, but those are comparable to when Adam does an hidden GM roll, as long as we can see combat rolls when the players do and react to it “live” so to speak I have no problem with doing hidden rolls, those are supposed to be hidden. And same goes will all rolls in general like investication, stealth etc. Those are nice to see.

We will aim to make the production even better!
More fun and more interactivity.

Oh, let’s take more then a minute there!

JP does a LOT of behind the scenes things that make Rollplay what it is. He has years of Twitch experience under his belt, so it’s not just RPG items on his list of thing to care for. He orchestrates a huge amount of detail that other GMs fail to manage in real time.

I don’t really watch any TV shows anymore, Rollplay is my sole source for entertainment these days. If he ever stops doing it, there will be noone to fill that space. So big cheers to the guy who made it all roll the way it does. :beers:

I’ve watched more of Stevens and Adams shows and dabbled in to Neals but perhaps that’s one of the reasons I’ve yet to power through the original shows yet. Watched most of the content after that tho. And intend to visit the originals, just that I came in after those.

But the focus was not the part of things I dislike, but what I like about RollPlay as it stands now, and want to show appreciation for that.

Also, inte the Patreon video where JP teased the new overlays with functions reading directly from the API, that has me on the edge of my seat eagerly waiting, hope to see that soon! Just had to note that.

I wholeheartedly agree.

The passion, production, and professionalism is the reason I’ve kept subbed to JP for something like 2 years even though I’m literally on the other side of the planet and very rarely get a chance to watch his streams live.

Same here, subbed from Sweden and rarely catch live streams.

Well, I’m not exactly a sub myself, but I know for certain I introduced JP to some people who are subs now. I jumped into Original rollplay while it was in it’s 20 episodes and had a blast, watched all of it from the start, incuding DH and Ebhon, and then I kept up to date with all of the shows. Would watch it live, but in Europe that means turning into a zombie, so I stay on YT. I became a Patron day 1 after launch, love the extra content JP and Adam create, especially all of the juicy PDFs and the behind the scenes vids.

I cannot apreciate enough how well JP handles all the components that add up to quality content - he is always updating his hardware, software and graphics to deliver the best technical quality, he does his own PR exeptionally well, he invites fantastic people to play games for us, he keeps the action rolling allowing just the right amount of lawyering and rules talk, filling the rest with scenes and dialogue AND is able to juggle gameplay and production in real time like a boss. I imagine JP’s brain catching flame because of how much mind-juggling it has to do sometimes. Again, Chapeau bas! Kudos! RESTECP!
